Using Rhapsody is a fast, secure environment to download music in. From a technical standpoint, it is perfect. Additionally, it offers a longer trial period and provides more benefits than some of its competitors. The 14 day free trial is lengthier than most, and it lets the user get an idea just how this service works. We give Rhapsody 4 stars because of its speed, easy UI, and the overall customer service. Rhapsody is wonderful.
However, it is not as cheap and does not carry quite as many songs as Napster . The 2 services are nearly identical, but when compared side-by-side, Napster is just better than Rhapsody. If Rhapsody cost less than its top competitor, then it would definitely have landed at the top spot on our list. (It should be noted that we do not rate on price alone, but take in all factors. In this situation Napster and Rhapsody are evenly matched in all categories, so the winner is chosen by price.)
Unfortunately, Real Rhapsody and iPods are not fully compatible. The user needs to download the music onto their hard drive and transfer it over to the ITunes player. If you take into account the savings, then this is just a minor inconvenience and not that big a deal. The iTunes service is completely compatible with an iPod, but their service is more expensive. All in all, Real Rhapsody will work with any mp3 player; it just needs the user to do some extra work.
All Real Rhapsody services are available to customers within the United States . We recommend to Mac OS users that own an iPod to use eMusic because it is simpler.
